<p>Informatics Europe invites nominations for the <b>4th edition
Informatics Europe Best Dissertation Award</b>, recognising
outstanding PhD dissertations in Informatics and highlighting
emerging research excellence across Europe.<br>

<b>Nomination Deadline:</b> 21 May 2026<br>
<b>Award:</b> EUR 3,000 (sponsored by Springer)<br>
<b>Additional recognition:</b> Invitation to publish in a
dedicated Springer series<br>

<p><b>All Informatics Europe members</b> may nominate or endorse
an outstanding <b>PhD dissertation defended in the calendar
year 2025.</b><br>
</p>
<p>The Award Committee will evaluate nominations based on:<br>
</p>
<ul>
<li>originality of research and methodology</li>
<li>impact and quality of achieved results</li>
<li>societal relevance</li>
<li>clarity and quality of exposition</li>
</ul>
<p>In the event of equal top scores, the dissertation with the
highest societal impact score will be selected.<br>
</p>
<p>The winner will be invited to present their work at the <a
moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.informatics-europe.org/events/ecss.html?mtm_campaign=BDA2026&mtm_source=IE-announce">European
Informatics Leaders Summit</a> (ECSS 2026, Porto, Portugal)
and to publish in a dedicated Springer series.<br>
</p>
<p>If the winning dissertation is already published with an ISBN
or under copyright protection, the publishing opportunity will
be offered to the best unpublished nomination.<br>
</p>
