<p>The Minerva Informatics Equality Award recognises outstanding
European initiatives and best practices that <b>encourage and
support the careers of women in informatics research and
education. </b><br>
<br>
The Award seeks to celebrate <b>s</b><b>uccessful initiatives
that have had a measurable impact on the careers of women at all
stages</b>. Such initiatives can serve as exemplars of best
practices within the community, with the potential to be widely
adopted by other institutions. Submissions need to demonstrate the
impact that has been achieved.</p>
<p><b>The Award carries a prize of EUR 5,000.</b><br>
</p>
<p>The Award will be given to an individual or to a group to be used
for further work on promoting gender equality. To be eligible for
the award, applying candidates must be affiliated with
institutions in one of the member or candidate member countries of
the <a moz-do-not-send="true" href="http://www.coe.int/">Council
of Europe</a>, or Israel. <b>Members of the Award Committee are
not eligible. </b><br>
</p>
<p>This year the Award committee is composed by <a
moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.informatics-europe.org/society/minerva-informatics-equality-award/best-practices-in-supporting-women.html">past
Minerva winners</a>, members of our <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.informatics-europe.org/society/diversity-and-inclusion/working-group.html">Diversity
& Inclusion Working Group</a>, as well as members of <a
moz-do-not-send="true" href="https://eugain.eu/">EUGAIN</a>, the
COST Action on Gender Equality in Informatics initiated by
Informatics Europe in 2020. The Committee reserves the right to
split the prize between different applications. <br>

<p>The Award will be presented during the <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.informatics-europe.org/ecss/home.html">19th
European Computer Science Summit (ECSS)</a>, which will be held
in Edinburgh, UK, between October 23-25, 2023, where a
representative of the winning institution(s) will be invited to
give a short talk on their achievements. Noteworthy runners up may
also be included as <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.informatics-europe.org/society/minerva-informatics-equality-award/best-practices-in-supporting-women.html">exemplars
of best practice</a> in future Informatics Europe publications.</p>
