<p><b>womENcourage 2019 – “Diversity Drives Societal Change”</b><b><br>
</b><b>ACM Celebration of Women in Computing: womENcourage 2019</b><b><br>
</b><b>Rome, Italy, September 16 – 18, 2019</b><b><br>
</b><br>
WomENcourage brings together women in the computing profession and
related technical fields to exchange knowledge and experience and
provide special support for women who are pursuing their academic
degrees and starting their careers in computing.<br>
<br>
Join us for the 6th ACM Celebration of Women in Computing: <b>womENcourage
2019 in the beautiful city of Rome, Italy on September 16-18
2019.</b></p>
<p>Through a programme packed with insightful topics and engaging
educational and networking activities, womENcourage provides a
unique experience of the collective energy, drive, and excellence
that professional women share to support each other.<br>
</p>
<p><b>2019 Theme: </b><i><b>Diversity Drives Societal Change</b></i><br>
</p>
<p>Computer science is an ideal career choice for women who want to
impact on their future world. Through the ICT revolution, women
can influence the major developments that are changing virtually
all aspects of our everyday lives. ACM womENcourage 2019 will
focus on ideas and research that deal with applications of
Computer Science which impact the grand challenges in society and
the environment. Participants will be encouraged to participate
through posters, workshops, panel discussions as well as inspiring
keynote talks. A call for participation will include computing
designs, algorithms, techniques, systems, tools, evaluations and
methodologies on the following non-exclusive list of topics and
applications: Education and life-long learning, e-Health and
wellbeing, Inclusive societies (equality, diversity and
inclusion), Civic engagement and participation, Energy saving and
climate change, Sustainability and humanitarian actions, Ethical
markets, Security and safety, Transport systems optimization,
Urban environment and smart cities.<br>

<p><b>Posters</b><br>
<br>
Posters provide womENcourage participants with an opportunity to
present their work, receive feedback, exchange knowledge and
establish collaborations with others who share the same interests.
We welcome poster submissions that present original ideas and
research in any of the conference themes outlined above. Authors
may submit ongoing, new work or versions of their previously
published work.<br>

<b>Submission guidelines:</b><br>
<br>
One-page extended-abstract of the poster should be prepared using
the SIGCONF template from the packages available here (<a
moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template">ACM
conference publication format</a>) and must be submitted as a
PDF file through <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=womencourage2019">EasyChair</a><br>
Submissions should emphasize the importance of the research and
the author’s contributions. More detailed guidelines can be found

Examples of submissions from all the previous years’ editions of

Poster submissions can have multiple authors (of any gender). At
least one author of each accepted poster is expected to attend the
event and present the poster. Authors of accepted posters can
apply for womENcourage scholarships (guidelines soon to be
announced)<br>
