One day prior to the 2015 European Computer Sciences Summit (ECSS), on Monday, October 12, 2015, a special Pre-Summit Workshop will take place gathering practitioners interested in experiences and best practices in MOOCs and MOOC-related contexts.</div>

Chaired by <i><b>Uwe Egly </b></i>and<i><b> Hilda Tellioglu, Faculty of Informatics, TU Wien</b></i>, this pre-summit workshop includes experiences from authors who have been running MOOCs, have supported the production of MOOCs, have been involved in the selection of MOOCs or have analysed data for their university. It also includes using MOOC-related technology in other contexts, in particular, for on-campus education.<br><br>
The workshop aims to share experiences, results and solutions, and to document problems.<br><br>
Topics of interest include:<br><ul><li>
MOOC production: costs, processes, pitfalls</li>
<li>
MOOC selection: criteria for selection, how to motivate teachers, feedback from students</li>
<li>
MOOC introduction: strategies, phases, evaluation</li>
<li>
MOOC data: drop-out rates, student demographics, popular activities, etc.</li>
<li>
Integration with existing e-learning initiatives and learning management systems</li>
<li>
Failures and successes in flipped classrooms</li>
<li>
Pedagogical support to teachers</li>

The Pre-Summit Workshop on MOOCs is part of the ECSS 2015 events. Organised annually by Informatics Europe and one of its member institutes, ECSS is the meeting place for anyone interested in strategic issues and future trends related to research, education, management, career development and policy in Informatics. With some of the world's most distinguished academics, industry leaders and policy makers on stage, the summit never fails to inspire and stimulate. This year's ECSS will be held in Vienna, Austria, October 12-14, hosted by the Faculty of Informatics of Vienna University of Technology.
