[ie-announce] IE Applauds EUGAIN's Outstanding Evaluation on Gender Balance

Dear colleagues,

*Informatics Europe applauds the Outstanding Evaluation received for the 
COST Action EUGAIN on Gender Balance in Informatics*

Informatics Europe is proud to announce the successful completion of the 
EUGAIN <https://eugain.eu/about/> project (European Network for Gender 
Balance in Informatics), a landmark COST Action dedicated to advancing 
gender balance across the field of Informatics in Europe.

In its final review by European Commission experts, *EUGAIN received 
“excellent” ratings in all evaluation criteria*—an exceptional 
recognition of the network’s dedication and impact. Key outcomes include 
research papers <https://eugain.eu/results/research-publications/>, 
policy recommendations, and practical guidelines 
<https://eugain.eu/results/deliverables/> that set the groundwork for 
institutions to incorporate gender and diversity studies into 
Informatics programs. EUGAIN has also established a vital platform for 
historically underrepresented populations in Informatics to take the 
stage and have an academic voice at international conferences and 
workshops. These achievements have laid the foundation for ongoing 
progress across academia and industry.

Informatics Europe extends its sincere gratitude to all those involved 
in the project, with special thanks to our former WIRE Working Group 
(now the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group 
<https://www.informatics-europe.org/society/diversity-and-inclusion/working-group.html>) 
for initiating EUGAIN and serving as a major driving force behind its 
success; the action chairs, professors Letizia Jaccheri (NTNU, Norway) 
and Barbora Buhnova (Masaryk University, Czech Republic), as well as 
much of the core leadership group

Informatics Europe is honoured to have supported this Action as a grant 
holder.
