Dear Colleagues,

The annual *European Computer Science Summit - ECSS 2017* to be held in 
Lisbon (October 23-25, Universidade NOVA) is at the door. This year's 
main theme of the conference is /*"Informatics Connects!"*/. The Summit 
will not be short of inspiration and stimulation. It will feature talks 
on selected “hot” topics related to connectivity, examples of successful 
stories and engaging panel discussions. Deans and Heads of Department, 
Professors, Directors, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Students and Research 
are all welcome to attend. **

Jointly with the *ECSS Main Summit Program

(24-25 October), Informatics Europe organises the *Workshop for Deans 
and Departments Heads*

aim is to address specific challenges, best practices, new approaches 
and practical strategies for heads in Informatics education & research.

As in previous years, the ERCIM Fall Meetings 
<https://www.ercim.eu/events/ercim-days> are collocated with the ECSS, 
creating the opportunity for closer interaction between the two 
organizations and its members.

This year, for the first time, the Academia Europaea Informatics Section

a workshop for its members, collocated with the Workshop for Deans and 
Department Heads.

The collocation of meetings of related organizations extend our network 
and create opportunities for interaction and exchange with European
